My surgery is on the 13th of may and sooo excited. everyone asks me are you sure you want to do this and i can smile enough to tell them yes im sure. this is my life and im gonna lve it to its fullest. my kids have made me a calander with little saying for the day before surgery just to tell me they love me or what ever was on thier minds at the time they made it and its funny sometime and helpos count down with me. they will be going to the hospital with me that day. my older two where havinga really hardtime dealing with my surgery so we had a family meeting and all seven of us will be going that day.i cant wait

First, COngragtulations on getting your date. May 13th will be here before you know it and then you can begin the really exciting portoin of this roller coaster ride they call WLS.

As a cautionary note, however, I'd check with the hospital before making plans to have your children there. I know when I had my surgery at Bayview, they weren't letting anyone under the age of 18 up to the floors. I have some vague, pain med/anesthesia clouded memory that this had to do with the flu risk running around. That may have changed in the last four months, but I'd hate to have kids who are anxious around their mom's surgery, have a curve ball thrown at them at the last minute.

Hope all goes well for you - I know that there are good times ahead!

I did find that right now as of april 19th that no kids under 12 but it may change by the time i have the surgery. And they wont care much anyways they are going to the planetarium in b-more so they will be happy. thanks for letting me know that info russel good thing to know before i got all the way there. oh i so cant wait 25 more days

Hey there congrats on the date (mine is the 12th). I hate the constant questioning of my decision but I smile as well and tell them yes i'm sure. Great to have your kids all on board that calendar is really sweet .
